Twenty years ago it was the McLaren F1 GTR on its way to victory in the BPR Global GT Endurance Series. The McLaren F1’s legend looms large for many reasons–its top speed, its victory on its Le Mans debut, and its obsessive, hyper-focused design, to name a few.

However it is not just the design of the car that won those victories, it was the powerplant or the heart that kept it going. The gold covered BMW engine produces 627 horsepower, but it is that sounds, you could say an aggressive, musical masterpiece that we love to hear.

The sound is even better mixed with the high-pitched whine of a racing gearbox, as this 1996 McLaren F1 GTR race car demonstrates. Now you get the chance to watch and hear the famous BMW Motorsport F1 GTR lapping Silverstone, enjoy!
