Kenny Bräck has had an amazing career. The Swede has won the Indianapolis 500, the Indy Racing League’s driver championship, and an X-Games gold medal—and survived one of the most violent crashes ever recorded in motorsports history in 2003, only to come back and nab pole position at Indy 18 months later. So hustling a long-tail McLaren F1 GTR up the hill during the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed is no major challenge for Bräck.
He’s not out of place, either: Having retired from regular racing, Bräck is McLaren’s newest testing and development driver. We’re just glad he’ll be doing what he does best—wringing out top-flight machinery for all it’s worth.
Now we can hear from Kenny on surviving the biggest crash in motorsport history, how to win and joining the McLaren.
