In 2013 Nitto Tire decided to hold an all-encompassing event to celebrate automotive enthusiasm and the broad range of cultures it has spawned. Now in its second year Nitto invited all of Southern California’s car lovers out for an afternoon of drifting, giveaways, and most importantly, a good old-fashioned car show at the Angel’s Stadium in Anaheim, CA.
Nitto says it held the first Auto Enthusiast Day in December 2013 as a way to commemorate its surpassing the five million fan mark on Facebook. One of the highlights of the event for the crowd were the Nitto-sponsored drivers who were given free reign and an empty lot to present a full drift demo for eager onlookers. Vaughn Gittin Jr, Matt Field, Chelsea DeNofa, Odi Bakchis and former Formula D driver Matt Powers were all present, as well as their respective Formula Drift machines.
“To us, there is no better way of paying homage to the culture and people who have helped propel Nitto to where it is today than by putting on an event that unites enthusiasts in one massive celebration” said Harry Kong, Brand Publishing and Social Media strategist for Nitto Tire.
Attendees were also offered the chance to take home a custom built Nitto Tire Ford Mustang which was featured at the 2013 SEMA show which we thought would be one mighty fine Christmas present.
