Maserati’s turns 100 this year and the storied brand is releasing a new car, the Ghibli. Based on the new Quattroporte, the Ghibli stands as a more practical day to day car.
The Ghibli comes fitted with a 3.0L Twin-Turbo V6, which gives a max output of 345 HP at just over 5,000 RPM. Accompanied by their new Auto-Adaptive Transmission, the Ghibli turns from a smooth sedan to a performance machine. The lightweight next generation 8-speed automatic transmission delivers software driven gear shifts that is able to recognize road conditions and driving styles to calculate which is the right gear for you.
However, the computer driven gear changes do not disconnect the driver from the experience of driving. Thanks to the Ghibli’s servo assisted hydraulic steering, the driver stays in total control and is able to experience that pure driving pleasure.
Let’s not forget however, that the Ghibli is very much a beauty. The interior is smooth, elegant, and functional. Paired with its aggressive stance and sleek lines, the Ghibli certainly makes a statement on the road.
The base model starts out at about $66,000, making it a new competitor in the world of affordable luxury.
