Pistons Passions and Sicilian Pleasure

A teaser was released for the upcoming Targa Florio documentary. Describing itself as “An intimate look to the history and legend of the Targa Florio Race”, Pistons Passions and Sicilian Pleasures is a feature documentary depicting the early days of the famous race in Sicily.

The setting for the film will be the 92 mile evocative Grand Circuito della Madonie amongst outstanding mountain scenery and through medieval villages unchanged since the days of Nazzaro’s triumphs.

The documentary is presented be Francesco Da Mosto and acclaimed racing driver Alain De Cadenet better known as “The Renaissance Man”. This formidable Team, not only present and narrate this epic story, but meet and discuss memories of the races with local Sicilians.

Production is expected to be completed with a release set for later this year.

    De Cadinet is just a privileged playboy but Da Mosto should be good viewing. To me though the glory days of the Targa were the late 60s and early 70s and the master of the circuit surely has to be Vic Elford. His 1972 in car film in an Alfa is required viewing.
