If there is one thing Mercedes Benz loves doing, it is out doing itself, and it has done it again with the all new high end luxury sedan the Mercedes Benz S600. Introduced at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, the S600 harmoniously blends luxury, performance, and style. Known as the flagship model it continues with its powerful V-12 engine and all of Mercedes latest gadgets inside, it is sure to make any driver weak in the knees.
The new 6.0-litre V-12 bi-turbocharged unit now features a lighter aluminum crankcase and forged pistons to handle the extra horsepower up to 523, 13 more horsepower than the previous model. However, it’s not all brute force as the S600 includes a 7 gear automatic gearbox and a start-stop-system to conserve fuel and, make the S600’s V-12 more fuel efficient.
While the engine is an impressive piece of work, the S600 is roundly known for the technological advances each model makes. With this new model we see the S600 comes standard with the Collision Prevention Assist Plus safety system, this is able to detect emergencies and hazards ahead and automatically slow the vehicle and even bring the vehicle to a stop at low speeds. Blind spot assistance is provided by the Active Lane Keeping Assist program which provides autonomous steering assistance essentially the S600 can almost drive itself. Inside the cabin a touchpad is now standard operated by swipes of the finger the touchpad can detect characters in several languages.
The Mercedes-Benz S600 is beautiful piece of engineering with slick killer looks and innovative new technology expect to see the 2015 model go on sale sometime in the spring.
