SRT the Chrysler-owned brand revealed that its V10-powered Supercar has traveled to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit to showcase its new look. SRT is claiming this new shade is an evolution of that iconic Snakeskin Green from 2008, but with more noticeable green and yellow elements for a “liquid mercury” appearance. Stryker Green paint, will be added to the Viper’s color palette, and will be available on both the GTS and on the standard Viper. Additionally, SRT’s Stryker Green Viper that will be displayed in Detroit features a prototype aero packaged with Mopar carbon fiber rear wing and carbon fiber extended front corner splitters.
“We’re continuing to develop and build unique, low-volume, special-edition colors for the Viper that adds to the exclusivity of our American-built flagship Supercar,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO, SRT Brand and Motorsports. “The application of the new Stryker Green exterior paint is a very detailed and intricate process, taking approximately eight hours to complete. The process first starts with a base color coat followed by a green-tinted mid-coat and topped off with a clear finish. Each coat application adds depth and accentuates the curvature of the Viper’s exterior design”.
As for the Grand Touring equipment pack, the new options bundle adds standard Nappa leather seats, five different modes for the stability control – including ‘Full-off’ and ‘rain’ settings – and electrically adjustable Bilstein ‘DampTronic’ select suspension borrowed from the top-of-the-line GTS model. Venom Black or the new Stryker Green will be the only color options on GT-equipped Vipers.
