Subaru officially unveiled its brand new the WRX STI headed for the ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race at Nordschleife & Sprintstrecke, otherwise known as the Nürburgring 24 Hours. This is the seventh consecutive year Subaru will field a vehicle in the race, aiming for a third win in the SP3T class.
The SP3T class allows for turbocharged engines between 1.75 and 2.0-litres. The team’s general manager is Hideharu Tatsumi from STI and will have the factory drivers Toshihiro Yoshida and Kota Sasaki behind the wheel alongside two as yet unnamed European Drivers. Testing in Japan should be completed by the end of January, and the car will then compete in the VLN Endurance series at Nürburgring, starting with the 24 Hours qualifier on April 5 and 6.
The ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race takes place June 19-22, 2014 in Germany.
