If you had the chance to pick between the latest Audi S3 and the original Audi Sport Quattro (Ur-Quattro), which one would it be? To find out which was the quickest, Audi took both to the classic rally circuit in San Remo, Italy. Lucky for us, we also get to see one of our favorite WRC drivers and the 1984 World Rally Champion Stig Blomqvist behind the wheel of the Audi Sport Quattro.
The Audi Sport Quattro was based on the Audi Sport Quattro S1 rally car. With the 2.1-liter 5-cylinder turbocharged engine, it is a very capable sports car. The Audi S3 hatchback on the other hand features a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Both cars are both all-wheel drive 300 horsepower pocket rockets, but they are separated by thirty years of development.
Now we don’t want to spoil anything but we do suggest you watch the drive.
