Easier Said Than Done is a full-length feature film which focuses on Privateers and what might be the dirtiest side of rallying – finding the investment to compete. The movie is the brainchild of Matt Johnston, who setup a Kickstarter page to help fund the film.
Matt’s original story was based around two drivers, Chris Duplessis – one of the fastest young North American drivers, and famed “Gymkhana” driver Ken Block. Two very different people with very different stories, but with surprisingly similar challenges. However as his project grew Matt reached out to some of the top talent from the World Rally Championship, former World Rally Champion Petter Solberg as well as other international amateurs. The goal of his film is to show the personal challenges and stories of each driver as they each try their hardest to compete in their respective events.
Easier Said Than Done travels across the globe and covers events across 8 very different countries. Matt combines slow-motion camera shots, aerial views, and impossible angles to highlight both the beauty of the cars and the rallys.
The trailer essentially has it all.
The documentary is scheduled to be released on the 28th of September with an internet release coming on the 1st of October. Make sure you set a reminder in your calendar to watch Easier Said Than Done.
