TVR is back! Nikolai Smolenski confirmed that the company had been sold back to British interests last month. Smolenski said the deal was done “some weeks ago” but refused to reveal the price. Smolenski acquired TVR in 2004 from its previous long-time owner, Peter Wheeler, for a rumoured price of £15 million.
The sparse and dormant website recently changed back to the original TVR logo accompanied by a “Roaring Back” image. TVR fans may not be so quick to jump for joy. It has been a rollercoaster ride and some may even say the company has been very unpredictable.
In November of 2012 it was reported it was very likely all the jigs and body moulds for cars like the Sagaris had been scrapped. Which means the only way forward would be an all-new TVR. Given the huge cost needed to make that happen I am not sure how soon we can see a new car on the road.
