With Peugeot taking on Pikes Peak next month and Sebastien Loeb giving the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak its first meaningful test up Mont Ventoux we thought it might be a good time to head back to 1998 for Climb Dance.
Climb Dance is a cinéma vérité short film, which featured Finnish rally driving ace Ari Vatanen. In 1998 he set a record time in the highly modified class. His four-wheel drive, all-wheel steering Peugeot 405 Turbo 16 GR won the 1988 Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. The record time set was 10:47.77.
The film itself was produced by Peugeot and directed by Jean Louis Mourey, in making the movie Peugeot also went back to Pikes Peak in 1989 with Robby Unser to complete the movie. The movie itself also took several awards from across the globe including the Grand Prix Du Film in Festival De Chamonix, 1990. The Silver Screen at US Industrial Film & Video Festival Chicago, 1990. The Prix Special Du Jury at the Festival International Du Film D’Aventure Val D´Isere, 1990 and the Golden Award at the International Film Festival Houston, 1990.
