The Warren Golf and Country Club, celebrated a spectacular event that saw several thousand people enjoying its inaugural classic and supercar show.
A first of its kind in the UK and providing a world first for the wide selection of cars in attendance – from countries including USA, Italy and Scandinavia – the event has received commendations from classic and supercar experts around the globe and public praise from those who attended across the region.
Of particular interest to the crowds were Max Chilton’s Formula One Marussia racecar, Eric Clapton’s Ferrari and Mick Jagger’s ex Rolls Royce – now owned by actress Mischa Barton (who sent her apologies for not being able to attend).
Max Chilton commented: “Being a huge classic car fan, I was excited about being involved in the event, but the sheer variety of cars that were on display completely blew me away.
The quality and international flavour of the cars on the concours field surpassed the expectations of many in attendance. Over 100 entrants exhibited everything from veteran classics to modern supercars.
The Best of Show award went to Steve Osborn’s wonderful Ferrari 250GT Lusso, whilst Corrado Lopresto’s magnificent one-off Alfa Romeo 6C-1750 Aprile Spider, which was making its UK debut, received show runner up.
Other class winners included actress Mischa Barton’s Rolls-Royce Camargue in an eclectic post-war touring group, Gavin Moule’s Zonda F, Martin Emmison’s AC Cobra 289 and Ron Hing’s Ecurie Sonauto Porsche 2.7RS Lightweight.
