The second annual Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival started with a very wet Saturday which meant not many racers took to the field and instead tried to wait out the rain with not much success. This year’s featured marque in the annual event is McLaren.
Last years event feautred over 350 historic race cars competing on the scenic Infineon race track, some of the cars dating as far back as 1915. This year’s highly-anticipated event reached the maximum number of entries many months ago (400 entries, 26 of which are authentic McLarens), and it was a great shame that we were not able to see all of them out on the track today.
The weekend’s events features a series of “time capsule” historic races benefiting Speedway Children’s Charities here in the Bay area.
Another advantage of attending the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival is the Wine Country Pavilion, where the best food and wine from the Sonoma and Napa Valleys may be sampled.
The details for this weekends races are as follows.
