The West Coast Moto Jam is a serious motor sport event and it took place at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma last weekend. It comprises of five days of motorcycle action including over 20 events of two wheel racing featuring AMA Pro Road Racing – SuperBike, SportBike, SuperSport and Harley Davidson XR1200 race action and TTXGP Electric Motorcycles on the main track. While around the track spectators were treated to the AHRMA National Vintage Motocross, Supermoto USA and Flat Track racing essentially something for everyone on two wheels.
One of many highlights of the weekend was local rider 16 year old Elena Myers’ SuperSport victory. The victory made history as Elena is the first female to win an AMA race. Myers, hails from Discovery Bay and is in her first season in the Pro SuperSport class.
AMA Pro Road Racing headlined the action on the road course featuring the American SuperBike, Daytona SportBike and SuperSport classes on both Saturday and Sunday. Spectators were also treated to a new event for 2011 the Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series will also ran over the weekend.

Zero-carbon motorcycle racing returned to Sonoma for a second straight year for the first race of the TTXGP in which Brammo’s rider, Steve Atlas won and broke last years lap speed record. All motorcycles are powered by zero carbon electric drive trains.
The action was not only limited to the world-famous road course as the weekend also featured Supermoto USA, Flat Track and AHRMA National Motocross in different parts of the circuit. Even though the weather was not the best, it certainly made for a very enjoyable weekends activities.
